CHAPTER 4: THE TRUTH COMES OUT

Julian spent the next week gathering evidence.

He didn’t attack.

He didn’t threaten.

He waited.

Because powerful people often destroy themselves when they think they have won.

Bianca believed she was safe.

Richard believed he was untouchable.

They were wrong.

Julian invited them both to the Hale mansion.

The same place where they tried to destroy Martha.

Bianca arrived wearing an expensive dress.

She smiled.

“I knew you would forgive me.”

Julian looked at her.

“I didn’t invite you here for forgiveness.”

Richard frowned.

“What is this?”

Julian pressed a button.

The large television turned on.

Security footage appeared.

Bianca pushing Martha.

The room became silent.

Bianca’s face went white.

“You recorded me?”

Julian smiled.

“No.”

He looked at the investigator.

“I collected everything.”

Then another video appeared.

Richard’s meetings.

Payments.

Messages.

The entire plan.

Martha walked into the room.

Everyone froze.

Bianca stepped back.

“You’re alive?”

Martha looked at her.

“Yes.”

Then she said something Bianca never expected.

“And I remembered everything.”

Richard became angry.

“You old woman—”

Julian stepped between them.

“Choose your next words carefully.”

Police officers entered the mansion.

Bianca started crying.

Richard started begging.

But nobody listened.

Because for months, they had planned to silence Martha.

Now the truth was finally speaking for her.

As Bianca was taken away, she looked at Julian.

“You loved me.”

Julian looked at her sadly.

“I loved the person you pretended to be.”

Then she was gone.

But Julian still had one question.

Why did his father leave that letter?

And what else had his family hidden?
