Chapter 13 - The Document That Could Destroy Everything

The document arrived the next morning.

Everyone gathered in my father's office.

Charles read it silently.

His expression changed.

"What is it?"

He didn't answer.

"Dad."

Finally, he handed it to me.

I read the first page.

Then the second.

The accusations were serious.

Financial fraud.

Illegal transfers.

Manipulation of company records.

My stomach turned.

"Is this real?"

Charles looked at me.

"No."

His answer was immediate.

But his face showed worry.

"Then why does it exist?"

"Because someone wants people to believe it."

The investigator examined the document.

"There are inconsistencies."

"What kind?"

"The dates."

He pointed.

"These records were supposedly created twenty years ago."

He paused.

"But the software used to create them didn't exist until five years ago."

Michael had created fake evidence.

Carefully.

Professionally.

But not perfectly.

Charles looked relieved.

But only for a moment.

Because the damage was already happening.

The media had the documents.

People believed them.

The truth was slower than the lie.

That evening, Charles held a press conference.

Reporters surrounded him.

Questions came from every direction.

"Did you destroy Michael Grant's family?"

"Are these documents real?"

"Is your company built on corruption?"

Charles stood silently.

Then he said:

"I made mistakes."

The crowd became quiet.

"But I did not commit the crimes I am accused of."

He looked directly at the cameras.

"I will prove the truth."

After the conference, Ryan approached me.

"I can help."

I looked at him.

"Why?"

"Because I know Michael."

I didn't trust him.

Not anymore.

But I listened.

"He keeps backups."

"Where?"

Ryan hesitated.

Then said:

"Somewhere only I know."

That night, Ryan took us to an old office building.

Inside was a hidden room.

And in that room...

We found hundreds of files.

But one file was different.

The title was:

THE FINAL PLAN.

I opened it.

And my blood went cold.

May you like

Because Michael's final plan wasn't about money.

It was about Lily.
